Law covers nearly all aspects of human activity – from the contract you enter into when you buy a chocolate bar to your right to express yourself freely.
Queen Mary’s long-established Law LLB is your first major step to becoming a barrister or solicitor. This renowned degree incorporates all the compulsory modules needed to meet Bar Council and Law Society requirements, and has a strong focus on analysis, attention to detail, argument and communication. It’s an excellent option for students pursuing a legal career or with a general interest in law.
In your first year you’ll study the core principles of law and learn the skills you need to read and apply legal documents, such as Acts of Parliament, EU legislation and case reports. Your second and third years will allow you to choose from a broad range of specialist fields – such as human rights law, criminology, intellectual property and medical negligence.
Students accepted into this course may then opt to apply for the competitive and highly prestigious Law in Practice LLB. This extended four-year degree gives you the unique opportunity to complete an eight-month paid work placement at leading law firm Reed Smith

Dr Jon Kennedy, MSc Global Health Programme Director will speak about the different Global Public Health MScs offered at Queen Mary, University of London. Jon will outline the structure of the MSc programmes and talk through some of the modules on offer. You will also have the chance to speak to current MSc students about their experiences.
Global and Public Health
The MSc is designed to advance the careers of aspiring professionals in medicine, mental health, psychology, psychiatry, and other fields where mental health is the focus of the work. We do this by sharing the scientific evidence base to inform professional practice and empower research that will change the way care is provided. Support and contact are ensured throughout the year with 1 hour tutorials including the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approaches. Also student-staff liaison meetings are convened each semester between staff and student representatives. We support people with physical and learning difficulties in accessing higher education and the vast opportunities it can create. The diversity of our student body reflects our location in one of the most creative and culturally diverse areas of London.The MSc is designed to deliver 4 programmes. These are delivered from September to August. Teaching is dependent on the programme and module, the teaching takes place one or two days a week. Full-time students complete the MSc in one year. Part-time students complete the MSc in two years. Distance Learning students are required to participate in online lectures and tutorials that follow the same structure as those for the on-site students.
Mental Health
The William Harvey Research Institute offers a vibrant, fully integrated clinical and basic science environment devoted to understanding basic pathogenic mechanisms and therapeutic innovation in cardiovascular, inflammatory and endocrine diseases.
The William Harvey was founded by the Nobel Laureate Sir John Vane in 1986 at the picturesque Charterhouse Square campus where we have state-of the art laboratories, a Genome Centre, Protein Analysis Unit and a Clinical Research Centre enabling us to translate observations at the bench into clinical study. Over the past 20 years the William Harvey has grown to number more than 196 researchers drawn from 44 nations and several of our principal investigators are among the 100-most cited pharmacologists in the world.
The Institute continues to deliver a wide range of highly successful and sought-after postgraduate programmes led by senior staff based in specialist academic centres. Dr Zahan, a Global Health Professional, she obtained MSc Global Health, Law and Governance from Queen Mary University of London, UK, (2015-16). Her current role is Head of Ecosystem and Business Development of Digital Healthcare Solutions of Grameen Telecom Trust, Bangladesh. She provides strategic leadership for ecosystem activities to achieve partnership development with special focus to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) and Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Bangladesh, Development partners, NGOs and relevant Private Sector Institutions that are critical for business.
Kyle Eick
Kyle studied Aerospace Engineering MSc in 2015. He has worked for NASA and Czinger Automotive (3D printed supercar) and other additive manufacturing startups. He is now the Engineering Manager at 3Diligent in Los Angeles.
Michael Si
Michael studied Management MSc in 2014. He has worked for Barclay, Featured Speaker, Antler and now is the Product Lead for Monese.
